Happy Birthday, Buddha!

We celebrated ole' Buddha's birthday a couple of weeks ago (we have no idea how old he is) and it was surprisingly fun. The base temple, which is part of the Korean side of the base, had lantern making and they were supposed to do a parade which would have been really neat (we saw part of one of the floats), but it got rained out...oh well...we have next year.) Anywho...here are the photos of us making lanterns...

The fam in front of the temple...it's a really pretty building. We've lived here a year and a half and it was our first time to ever see it and it's only a 7 min walk from our house (sad, we know).

Poor Hudson...all I can think of is my Mom saying "I want to love you, and hug you, and stroke your fur the wrong way!"

Getting ready to make lanterns!

Elaina and Reagan working on her's...the lady kept going "Oh no no no!" everytime she put a petal on when they weren't perfect and Elaina would say "I want to do it by myself!" Then the lady would say "ok ok ok" It was really funny.

We're making lanterns....they told me I was "Natural!" So, when the kid's go off to school maybe I'll take up oragami or some other paper art!

I LOVE Koreans for this....they LOVE babies. Anywhere we go they want to hold and take care of Hudson...it's wonderful for us!

Dad's turn to work on a lantern.

Aiden's is all done.

The fam with our lanterns and Buddha....apparently there are several different Buddha's. This one is in charge of the "Earth" growing plants, etc. we think. Often times things are lost in translation.
A and E outside with all the pretty lanterns hanging around them. They did a great job decorating the temple.

In front of a Buddha statue outside the temple.

Here a few extras. If things go as planned, which they always do, right?, I will get a couple more blogs out this week because we've been busy, busy, busy!

Aiden had his first sleepover! His friend, Collin, came to our house. This was pretending to be some two headed Star Wars character. Now Aiden is wanting to go sleepover at someone else's house, but we're not sure he's (read we're) ready :)

I LOVE technology. E was playing with my nook while Hudson watched and I got about 30 uninterupted minutes of time to work around the house-it's the little things, right?!
Have you EVER seen such a sweet baby? We could eat him up!
