A-10 family pics

I totally forgot. We took family pics with the A-10 a few weeks ago. Here are a few. Just showing off how cool Daddy is!!

The fam and "the gun"!

Daddy and his babies. Hudson's not real sure about this!!

We liked that the photographer took pics of just the two of us. We wouldn't have thought to do it on our own.

Let me just end this by saying the plane is RIDICULOUSLY high. Holy cow! I told Dad I was most impressed that he had climbed in and out of the jet without ever falling. Seriously...he's got mad skills!

Cairns

I have got to finish up Australia. I have lots more to blog about. Thanksgiving, Aiden's birthday, etc.

On Day 7 we flew to Cairns and just took it easy. Day 8 wasn't much different. Just played at the pool and beach. It was lovely.

These were the views driving to our hotel...incredible!!

We wanna go back!!!!!

How fun is that sign? Sadly the only kangaroo we saw on the side of the road had been hit by a car. However, I guess that's why they post the signs!

We went swimming in the beach. For the record-no crocodiles were seen by us except at a crocodile farm.
After a lovely little picnic on the beach. We could definitely get used to this lifestyle!
No wonder there are crocs in the ocean. Look at this. It's a bayou on one side and a beach on the other. It was so strange.
My fam on the beach.

This whole driving on the wrong side of the road is very confusing for Daddy!

The next day was more of the same...pool and beach.
Aiden LOVES the ocean. He would hang out there all day. Stingers, crocs, sharks-he could care less. Elaina on the other hand does not enjoy the beach so much. She is a pool girl through and through. At least they are water babies, right? Here they are playing in the Coral Sea.

We have a happy starfish....she's finally in the pool-her favorite!

Up next The Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

Day 5 and 6 were really busy, jam packed days as they were our last 2 in Sydney. We felt the "Oh no, we haven't done that yet and we really wanted to!" pressure. We did everything we wanted to do in Sydney except go to the Blue Mountains. It was just too cold. In the end we decided the Rocky Mountains are the best in the world and we had those at our fingertips for 3 years, so that made it okay.

On Day 5 we went down to the Fish Market, Watson's Bay and Bondi Beach. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but Sydney is a huge city and this stuff was spread out everywhere!

On our way to the fish market the ferry dropped us at the Naval museum. Of course we had to get in a quick pic of a boat and a sub!

Headed into the Fish Market. It's the 2nd largest in the world. Japan's is the largest. What we couldn't get over is how little is smelled. I know, I know "fish markets shouldn't smell." The Koreans did not get that memo!

Inside the fish markets where the restaurants were. Elaina thought it smelled. It really didn't. We just think she didn't like seeing all of the dead fish.
One of many "cheese bars" at the fish market. If I'd had a way to get it home we would have walked out with a lot of cheese!

Eating at the Famous Doyle's. It was really good. Aiden got shrimps, Dad (and Hud) got fish and chips and I got grilled barramundi (Australia's most famous fish), and Elaina ate a turkey sammy we brought her from home. It was GREAT!

Where the fish auction happens. We didn't get to see it because the kid's are too little to do the behind the scenes tour.

After the Fish Market we went to check out the cliff's at Watson's Bay.

A lot of the tree's in Australia had huge trunks like this. We couldn't get over how big they were.

Checking out the cliff's. We tried to hike to the top of one, but there were too many stairs, so this is as close as we got.

We then headed to Bondi Beach. We really picked a great time to go, too. It was at the end of the work day and all of the surfer's were comeing out to catch some waves. It was really windy, too, so it made it really fun to watch. The waves were huge and these guys could surf!

The kid's headed out to touch the water-ICE! The people to the left are kid's doing surfing lessons. We were impressed!

The fam at Bondi.
They have a really cute little shopping are right on the beach and here is Elaina modeling on a bench.

On our way home that night we got to watch this cruise ship back out of Circular Quay. We are not boat people, but it was really pretty cool to watch.

On Day 6 we decided we wanted to do a little shopping. Bondi Junction is the perfect place. We even found a target. It was awesome. Sadly we didn't buy much-there prices are MUCH higher than our target!

This is a famous alley way in the Rocks. However, I have no recollection of why it's famous. So, you'll just have to trust me.
These next 2 pics are for my Mom and Aunt Carolyn. This was the coolest store. It's a button shop. It was wall to wall buttons. I've never seen anything like it.
A close up of one of the walls. It really was incredible.
At a mall. A real mall with real sizes. Bliss! Elaina had the quote of the trip here, too.

Aiden: Can we just sit while the girl's shop?

Dad: Aiden if we sit, the girl's just spend the money. We have to be there, so they don't go crazy.

Elaina: We don't have time to sit. We have time to shop. Duh!

That is MY girl!

At a little shopping street that had no traffic in Bondi Junction.

After all the shopping we thought the kid's might like break, so we found a nearby park.

Hudson's first time in a swing. He LOVED it. Sadly there are no baby swings on base, so this was a one time thing. Just a few more months though and we'll have baby swings at our disposal!
This little toy was really neat. It made you spin really fast. As you can see Hud and Aidenthought it was pretty cool.
This guy is supposed to be an Aboriginee. Hmmm. Probably not, but it made for a good pic.

When we got home we decided we wanted to walk to the Cremorne Point light house. We really were just loving going on walks everynight in a neighborhood.
About to head down the light house. Thost little sailboats in the background are all parked at a really famous yacht club where the biggest yachting race starts every year.
We made it to the light house. Excuse the crooked pic. We had to set the camera on a rock.
Giving Mama a wave while walking around the rocks.
A really beautiful garden right by the apartment we rented.
My fave pic of the trip. Sweetest (and cutest) kid's in the whole world. Bar None!
On our way to the airport to head to Cairns. We passed this everyday and didn't know what it was. We learned that it's called Ft. Denison and it was a prison many moons ago.

Our last ferry ride. We sure did enjoy our time in Sydney.

Next up: Cairns!

Hudson is walking! He started on 9 Nov. and it has taken me this long to get a good video of it. He's getting so big, so fast. He's just taking 4 or 5 steps here or there, but before long he's going to be running!

More Sydney

On day 3 we had rain and cold. We had other plans, but decided we would scratch anything outdoorsy and go to the aquarium. It was not in our original plans, but we're glad we went. It was a really fun place.

Getting ready to go in. There were Lego's everywhere.

Replica of the biggest great white shark ever spotted off the coast of Sydney. Glad we didn't run into that guy!
In front of the shark tank. They had some big ones in there.
The Great Barrier Reef exhibit. Getting excited to go check this place out.
Hudson LOVED the aquarium.

Hud and Daddy about to touch a shark egg.
Elaina didn't know what to think. Who knew, huh?! We thought these were really interesting!
Playing with the settings on my camera and I just thought this came out kind of cool.

Elaina was lucky enough to have her 5th birthday in Sydney. We wanted to make it really special, so we found a place about an hour outside of Sydney that you could pet koala's and feed kangaroo's and wallaby's. It was awesome!

The birthday girl ready to open her presents before we start our day!

She got a really cute le sport sac elephant bag from her brothers along with a pair of really cute (read over the top) rhinestone hello kitty earrings.

She got a DS from Mom and Daddy. She was so excited!

MeMe and PopP gave her the "chip". They sell these in Korea...they have 75 games on them. They are really neat!

Now we're off to Featherdale Wildlife Center!

Right away a wallaby hopped on over. How fun!

Elaina's the first one to give the koala some love. They are so soft and squishy!

Now it's Aiden's turn!

Daddy got in on the koala petting, too!

Now it's Mom and Hudson's turn! It was a really fun experience.

Aiden and a kookaburra. It did "sing" and it was really pretty.

Aiden partaking in feeding the pelicans. It was pretty cool. Elaina wanted no part of this. She was not going to touch dead fish.

Feeding the kangaroo's.

It was so neat to have them eat out of your hand.

You fed them out of ice cream cones and they would try to just take them from you. It was really funny. Their jaws are stronger that you would think.

Everybody feeding kangaroos. All these Asian people were more interested in Elaina than the kangaroos. She was getting really annoyed. We just thought it was strange because Australia is full of blondes. She's not different there.

The Smiley's and the Roo's!

Mom helping Hudson feed a grey kangaroo. Are you noticing a trend? We made sure that he did everything that we did. He may not remember it, but at least he can say he did it and there is photo evidence.

This little guy escaped his tree and was wondering around the park. Of course we took advantage and got some pets in!

Giving a pet to a wandering wallaby.

Aiden wants a turn!

Mom feeding the crazy emu babies. There beaks HURT and they are aggresive!

Huddy finally fell asleep and he was attacked by goats in the petting zoo. They were very curious about him. At one point there were 3 goats in the stroller with him.

Petting sheep. The kid's loved how soft there "wool' was.

Little Australian kid's on a field trip. I just thought there uniforms were so cute. All school kid's wear a uniform. They are all some variation of this. Our favorite part was the hats. They take sun protection VERY seriously in Australia.

On the train headed back for birthday dinner (chicken alfredo, of course) and cake!

Yea Daddy! He found a bakery with a pink cake and these super cute candles for the birthday girl!

What an amazing view, huh?! This is in the living room of the house we rented.

Lots more to come. Check back soon!
